Financial planning for pastors

Don Fecher is the BBT Director of Pension and Employee Financial Services

Don Fecher, Director of Pension Plan and Employee Financial Services, spoke at the Illinois/Wisconsin District Ministers Retreat on Tuesday, February 16, in Rockford, Illinois. In a lively, informative presentation Fecher addressed personal financial planning for pastors, with an emphasis on looking ahead toward retirement.

According to Fecher,"We have all been trained to do our jobs, but few of us have training on what to do when we receive our paychecks." The program began with a discussion of the "7 Biggest Mistakes" we all make with money. Using language the lay person can understand, without technical jargon, Fecher applied the basic concepts of financial planning to the specific concerns of pastors.
