For Brethren-Affiliated Employer Groups

The Church of the Brethren Medical Plan, which began more than 50 years ago, currently offers groups the choice of three different medical plan options. The Brethren Medical Plan uses Blue Cross Blue Shield-affiliated networks. These Preferred Provider Organization and Qualified High Deductible Health plans feature a range of deductibles and premiums. Open enrollment for the Brethren Medical Plan occurs annually in accordance with the employer group’s specific renewal date.

For Medicare-Eligible Active Employees and Retirees

Medicare Supplement insurance is offered to all eligible church workers and spouses who have become eligible for Medicare. Employees and/or their spouses will need to apply for this insurance no later than six months following their Medicare eligibility. Widows or widowers of Church of the Brethren employees may also apply within six months of their Medicare eligibility.
