Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

The Church of the Brethren Group Life Insurance benefit is underwritten by Aetna US Healthcare. Below are the benefits offered to those who work 20 or more hours per week for a congregation, district office, or camp. (If you work for a denominational agency or other employer that offers Brethren Benefit Trust Life Insurance, contact your employer for your benefit levels.)

The amount of basic life and AD&D insurance is determined for each member by their age and status --

  • Under age 65, active employee: $50,000.
  • Age 65 and over, active employee: $26,000.
  • Retired: $7,500.

Supplemental Life Options

Supplemental Life Insurance Coverage is only available to active employees. An amount equal to your basic life group coverage --

  • $50,000 if you are under age 65.
  • $26,000 if you are age 65-70.

An amount equal to one-half your basic group life coverage --

  • $25,000 if you are under age 65.
  • $13,000 if you are age 65-70.
