| Clergy Consultation Service While most insurance companies are in business to make a profit, the not-for-profit Brethren Medical Plan’s mission is to provide quality health insurance for its members. Plan members in the Brethren Medical Plan Minister's Group have access to the Clergy Consultation Service for times when pastoral staff need a confidential and accredited place to turn to deal with professional or personal issues. This confidential service, staffed by licensed pastoral psychotherapists, is available day or night to Plan members via a toll-free telephone number at no additional fee. In a typical year, counselors assist more than 30 Brethren Medical Plan members and their families with issues ranging from stress and burnout to depression, problems with children, sexuality, marital problems, anxiety, elderly parents, and addiction. Clergy Consultation counselors can also connect Brethren Medical Plan members with local professionals who can assist with these issues. |
