Brethren Foundation is a ministry of Church of the Brethren Benefit Trust, Inc. (BBT). In 1943 the church started an investment program with retirement dollars set aside for pastors and missionaries. Years later the church formed Brethren Benefit Trust to manage the growing assets of the retirement program and to provide and administer other employee benefits to the church as well. Our church established Brethren Foundation to help all Brethren agencies, and especially our leaders, to be good managers of our church's assets. Today, a revised charter makes that same investment service and expertise available to other denominations and not-for-profit agencies with similar values.
